Following a recent restructure the BTRC is looking for a permanent Head of Retraining to lead the daily operations of a 40 stable, 200-acre equestrian centre. The main focus lies in the development of retired racehorses for varied equestrian purposes.
Other duties include overseeing the rehoming process, liaison with potential and existing loanees and directing staff development whilst working closely with vets, farriers and other service providers to provide excellent all round equine care.
The successful candidate will also be expected to represent the BTRC at both internal and external events and help to organise such functions. This customer centric role requires equestrian experience, leadership skills as well as fundamental knowledge of Thoroughbreds, retraining and operational procedures. The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with Thoroughbreds
- BHS II qualification (or equivalent industry experience)
- A minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a similar equestrian or racing operation
