BTRC are Charity of the Year for Lune Valley Pods

Sam Westworth (LVP Managing Director), Gillian Carlisle (BTRC CEO), Carly Callon (LVP HR & Office Manager) and Lauren Vickerson (BTRC Communications & Engagement Manager)

BTRC are thrilled to announce local company, Lune Valley Pods Ltd have pledged their support to former racehorses by selecting BTRC as one of their chosen charities to receive donations from the sales of their luxury, glamping pods.

Lune Valley Pods, established in 2003 evolved from a timber building manufacturer, based just around the corner from BTRC, to the premier camping pod producer in the UK, who today employ over 30 people at their base in Heysham.

This exciting partnership came about when BTRC began Whinney Hill Farm C.I.C (WHF) as part of their diversification strategy in early 2023. As a new member of the Greener Camping Club, WHF needed sustainable, eco-friendly toilets and showers for their new camp site but at a competitive price.
Gillian and Lauren visited the local company to discuss requirements and from the first visit to delivery of the new facilities; Sam, Carly and the whole team at LVP have been supportive of BTRC’s new venture and provided professional advice and friendly support along the way.

After Sam and Carly visited BTRC to learn more about the Charity they very kindly announced they would like to make BTRC a chosen charity of Lune Valley Pods to receive £100 from the sale of every pod during a 12-month period, starting in June 2023.

Lauren, BTRC Communications Manager said “We are delighted Lune Valley Pods have chosen to support BTRC in such a generous way. Having a local company on board is fantastic and the monies donated will be a great help towards our work, but more than that – having Sam, Carly and the LVP team as a friendly support network we can lean on during our diversification journey is invaluable.”

Carly, HR & Office Manager at Lune Valley Pods spoke of their support for BTRC “ Supporting our local community and in particular worthwhile causes has been at the forefront of our core values for Lune Valley Pods over the years and on our quest to find our charity partner for 2023 we came across BTRC through them visiting our factory to purchase eco-friendly facilities for their new camp site. From the outset you could see the passion Gillian and Lauren share for the welfare of these beautiful horses and after visiting them at Whinney Hill Farm and seeing firsthand the amazing work they do we just knew that this was the charity we wanted to support for the next 12 months. We look forward to working with BTRC and not only donating much needed monies but also raising awareness for this truly awesome charity.
