Full or Part Time Stable Staff – 2026
We are looking for a Full time or Part time member of staff, to assist with the smooth running of the yard and to maintain the high standards of horse care and welfare. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable and passionate about Thoroughbred welfare who is experienced and competent in all aspects of yard duties such as mucking out, feeding, turning out, grooming etc. Experience of handling challenging horses is preferred but not essential. Full or Part Time Rider / Groom – 2026 (live in position available)
The BTRC are looking for a competent rider to assist in the retraining of retired Thoroughbreds to enable a timely transfer between racing and equestrian disciplines. Rider Grooms work alongside the Head of Retraining, and support in retraining the horses to ensure they are produced to an appropriate standard that allows them to enter the rehoming programme, as well as assisting with general yard duties. The majority of horses enter the Centre as part of our vulnerable horse programme and require riders with confidence, patience and the ability to ride through issues.
The successful candidate must be hard working, reliable and be comfortable working as part of a team yet have good initiative and be able to take the lead when required.
