We are looking for a competent rider to assist in the retraining of retired Thoroughbreds to enable a timely transfer between racing and equestrian disciplines. The Work Rider will work alongside an Assistant Trainer, supporting him/her in retraining the horses to ensure they are produced to an appropriate standard that allows them to enter the rehoming programme.
The ideal candidate to join the BTRC team must be a competent rider with previous experience of riding young/difficult horses and/or breaking in. You must be hard working, reliable and be comfortable working as part of a team yet have good initiative and be able to take the lead when required.
Part Time/Full time position (hours to be discussed with preferred candidate)
Due to the rural location of the Centre, all candidates must have access to their own transport. This is not a live-in position, there will be no accommodation available.
